Our final day in Fukuoka! Today we spend doing what we love most, aside from cycling…FOOD!

After another run around Ohori Park, we start the day by heading to Rota Cafe, a vegan cafe serving lunch, coffee and dessert.

The food is delicious. We love supporting small, local businesses like this one and hope they do well.

Before we head to our next food place, we stop off at Acros Fukuoka, via Tenjin Park.

It’s a 14 level piece of architecture with a garden growing on top and around the building.

If you climb to the top you can see some lovely views. Fukuoka really is a big city – it’s only the 7th biggest city in Japan but the fastest growing.

A short walk across the water is ‘Stock’ bakery.

I think we have found the best bakery in Fukuoka, if not Japan.

It’s a Thursday afternoon and the place is packed. They even have some barricades ready for when it gets super hectic but luckily they aren’t in use when we visit.

It’s a little overwhelming and there are so many delicious looking things to choose from. We end up buying seven things.

They also have a coffee counter inside ‘Coffee County’ serving drip coffee.

We go outside and upstairs to a small area with some benches; the calmness is a complete contrast to the chaos of the shop below. The bread and coffee are both amazing but we bought so much bread that will save some for later.

We wander back towards Tenjin Underground City, an underground mall which is like another dimension.

It runs for blocks and blocks, connecting some of the subway stations. Great place to spend your day if it’s raining!

We come across another French bakery called ‘Bel et Bien’.

We are suckers for good bakeries so we buy a few more things to add to the bread we’ve already bought. Later we will have a 빵파티 (bread party).

For dinner we head to ひらお (Hirao) again for some top notch tempura.

We love the way they serve each piece of tempura as it’s cooked. Everything is super fresh and delicious.

It’s Halloween tonight so we wander the town and see what’s going on.

The younger kids are warming up and getting ready for their big nights out. They all start congregating in a grassed square area which seems to be a common meeting point.

Tomorrow we will catch the ferry back to Busan to continue our travels in Korea. Japan has been amazing and we look forward to visiting again at some point in the future.
