Section 5: Jiantan Trail to Dahu Park MRT Station via Bishan Temple (13.3km)
After yesterday’s big day on the trails, our legs are feeling it a bit so we opted for one of the easier courses.

There was still quite a bit to ascend but it was mentally a lot easier, especially since we had already hiked the first 5km of this course during our Taiwan travels last year.

There were a lot of stairs to climb in the first half, but the weather was perfect for hiking which made for some amazing views.

The first peak was Mt Weijan (184m) followed by Mt Zhongyong (338m), collecting our gems and photos with the hiking paddles along the way.

Before long we reached Bishan Temple at the 10km mark, which was also the end of the official course.

A short trek down the road is Yuanjue Falls, which was busy with weekend hikers and families. It’s about 3km via Yuanjue Falls and down to Dahu Park MRT, which I believe is also part of section 4 so we will come past here again in a few days.

Being a Sunday there were a lot of people out on the trails, some casual walkers and a few big hiking groups!
